About Us

Daphne and Tarell Register were born and raised in Georgia. They were inspired to own their own cooking school for kids because of their daughter’s love for cooking and baking. After noticing there was nothing in their community for her to enhance this life skill, they knew it would be a great opportunity to bring Young Chefs Academy to the Middle Georgia area. Daphne has been a business owner for 7 years, owning iDAP Marketing, a marketing agency committed to helping small businesses market and brand themselves. Tarell is a military veteran, serving in the United States Air Force for 8 years and now works for the Department of Defense. Daphne and Tarell have been married for 13 years and they have two beautiful girls: Raven (11) and Mckenzie (10). As a family they enjoy spending time together and traveling. “Our focus is providing an amazing and unforgettable experience for all the young chefs in the Warner Robins area”, says Daphne. They are excited to offer this unique learning experience for children in their community and look forward to seeing all of the smiling faces that enter the YCA doors.

Founder and CEO, Julie Burleson, established Young Chefs® Academy in 2003 with the vision of cultivating/serving children’s strong interest in the culinary arts. It has grown with locations throughout the US to be a welcoming environment that provides a “real” setting so that the students can take what they learn at YCA™ to their own homes.

“The kitchen is the pulse of the home… where we learn about life and each other,” says Burleson. “Young Chefs Academy nourishes those values and gives kids an innovative environment to learn and thrive. In this busy world, what could be better?”

Over the years our franchisees have been showcased across some of the largest networks, which is a testament to our values and community activities.
